Welcome to Story Time! This Privacy Policy explains how Rocket Software ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application, Story Time (the "Service"). Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.

A. Information You Provide to Us:

Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We use this information to create and manage your account, identify you as a user, and communicate with you about your account.

B. Information You Generate Using the Service:

Story Prompts: To create stories, you provide us with prompts. These prompts may contain personal information that you choose to include, such as a child's name, age, or details about their day. We only use this information to generate the story as you have requested. You are in control of what information you include in these prompts.

We do not collect information via cookies or use third-party analytics services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our Service.
  • To create and manage your user account.
  • To generate AI-powered stories based on the prompts you provide.
  • To communicate with you, including sending service-related notifications and responding to your support requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We share information only under the following limited circumstances:

AI Service Provider:

Our core story-generation feature is powered by Google's Gemini AI model. To generate a story, we send the story prompt you enter to Google's API.

  • We only send the prompt content. We do not send your account information (like your name or email) with the prompt.
  • Per our agreement with Google for the use of their API, they do not use your prompt content to train their AI models or for any purpose other than providing the AI response to us.

Legal Compliance:

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect it. This includes hashing all user passwords and using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption to protect data in transit between your device and our servers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for use by adults (parents and guardians) to create stories for their children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union).

The user (the adult) is solely responsible for any personal information about a child that they choose to include in the story prompts. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information or created an account without your consent, please contact us immediately at michael@rcktsftwr.com, and we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

7. Your Rights (Data Access and Deletion)

You have the right to access, update, or request deletion of your personal information.

You can manage your account information directly through your account settings in the app. To permanently delete your account and all associated personal information, please contact us at michael@rcktsftwr.com. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your account information (name, email) and all story prompts and generated stories associated with your account from our active systems.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within our application and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
